On Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th December, Mary Martin (Founder of Artbound) was back after her Halloween success, with more winter arts and crafts fun! Families have already started getting into the Christmas Spirit, making sparkly Christmas tree decorations, wondeful Holly Wreaths and fun christmas stickers! Mary will be here on Weekends only, up until Sunday 18th December, with tonnes more activites. 2012 Calender making, Christmas card and hat making, face painting and christmas angels, are just a few more of the activites to name! Due to the amount of interest our ‘Cheepy Deal’ has generated, Old MacDonald has decided to add some more dates! Dates are as follows: Friday 25th November and 28th November to the 2nd December. Earlier on in the year, we sadly lost 2 of our male Rheas, this meaning that the farm would now only have one female Rhea. Old MacDonald and keepers at the farm were very sad by this news and decided that the lone female needed some company. To our excitement, our lovely friends at Capel Manor, Enfield (Educational College who specialise in Animal Care) contacted the farm with news that they may have some replacement Rheas.

On 16/11/11, Old MacDonald’s Farm welcomed ‘Kim’ (male) and ‘Aggie’ (female) both born in December 2009, to their new home with existing female ‘Dora’. All 3 Rheas have settled in perfectly and it’s nice to see ‘Dora’ happy again with her new friends.

During our October Halloween Half Term, Old MacDonald’s Farm and Mary Martin (founder of Artbound) hosted a full week of creative, fun and educational spooky activities. Visitors could also join our ‘Ghost Hunt’ and win a ghoulish gift and take part in a competition to win some family day passes!
