At Halloween we had to put our Farm Train on a Skeleton Service, and as you can see Kaitlyn Cottrill and her family, who won a Halloween Party Prize for herself and her friends from the Essex Chronicle Newspaper Group during the summer, risked our ghastly and ghostly crew as they rode around the farm. Now you can plan to hurry down to see us as we limber up for Santa’s visit at Xmas.

Obviously the main reason you want to visit our farm is to see our wonderful range of animals and birds, plus to enjoy a stroll in the Essex Countryside. However we have noticed that from time to time it rains a little, and gets a bit nippy, so Old Macdonald has spent a lot of time, considerable thought and oodles of cash on providing some indoor fun for the family too! First of all, our new barn battles opened on October 18th and as you can see is great fun! Come and test this out as it is all part of our entry fee.

As you enter the farm, next to our cafe with a wide range of eatables for you to enjoy, is our indoor play area with climbing frames, soft play, ball pools and rope ladders. Safe and fun for children to try as their parents sit and sup our teas and coffees.

Then, a short walk across from the soft play area you will find our fun show “Truck Trouble on the Farm” where Old Macdonald struggles to get his chickens to market, and whilst you are there do admire the antique Model T Truck, rescued by us from the USA and sabotaged by our devious singing chickens!

Talking about singing chickens, near Truck Trouble is the ever popular singing chicken animated show with fun songs to enjoy and also educational value on the life and history of poultry. This has been voted by visitors as their favourite part of our farm!

Opposite the chickens are our parrots and a variety of our smaller creatures and these can be found in pets corner, known as the hatchery here on the farm even when nothing is hatching!

Then wander down the farm a short way to the Rabbitry, and admire our Bunnies, Guinea Pigs and of course our Tortoises including the marvellous Bob (see old news stories to read about him) and next door to them are the Bullfrog Trio, from the Florida Everglades and telling you, in country and western style, about their life in the deep south of America.

So, at least two hours of fun inside at the farm for you to enjoy and five great reasons why a little damp weather should not stop you visiting us here in Brentwood! Plus, by Christmas we will have a new soft play indoor area, called Barn Battles, with compressed air guns and lots of fun for all, so watch this space for more information.
