Check Out Our Chicks – look at our new attractions and read some of the nice things people say about us.

chestnut-cart-001.jpgfarm-photos-john-labor-013.jpgs7300040.JPGs7300048.jpgAt last Old Macdonald has got out his favourite old Brownie Camera and taken some photos of our new attractions. First though coo over the photos of our new owl chicks, born in July and now sent to Paradise Park to form new families and hopefully find mates of their own and then breed. Our lovely Snowy Owls hatched three eggs and provided us with these welcome new babies.

Snowy Owls, as you have probably guessed if you did not know, are white (shock eh!) but their newborn are covered from head to claw in grey down and look more like Slushy Owls at this time, but cute does not cover them! Paradise Park sadly lost their much loved Snowy Owl recently and we hope ours have as good and happy a life as him.

Also, photos of our Adventure Bridges, Punch and Judy on the Farm and the new Truck Show, this being the first in the country! So hurry down and visit the Owls and the Pussycats (our farm cats have the life other kittens dream of!), wander over the Bridges and laugh at the Truck Show. This summer Old Macdonald’s Farm is the place to be.  Below is a photo of our brand new rabbitry, decorated by the clever rabbits themselves (not really in case you were going to complain about inaccuracies on our website)

Finally, our favourite trainee Vet Alison is back from Africa so we feature a few of her photos at the end of this article and you can read more on earlier news pages as to how you, our visitors, helped us help her go on her adventure.

Finally, we have some pictures of our bucking sheep show with a brave boy riding, and a couple of real chickens watching on! Also, two of our hens.

Now read some of the lovely comments people have sent in and look at Alison’s photos. (more…)

Old Macdonald Goes to the Shops-and important news for Annual Pass Applicants

countryf1.jpggolf.jpgamuse-train01.jpgfacilities-milking_cow.jpgOld Macdonald was astonished to hear that some of you, when you have a little time, seem to rather go shopping than visit your farm favourites here at Brentwood. He could not understand this because after all if you are hungry we have a cafe in which you can eat and drink, and if you want to buy things we have a great gift shop. However after a little thought he realised that you might need to purchase something to sit on and also a TV to watch, and that maybe you want clothes and items to cook, so that really shopping is essential!

So he decided if he cannot beat you he should join you and has taken OLD MACDONALD’S COUNTRY FAYRE to the Lakeside Shopping Centre this summer school holiday period. With a Farm Train, Milking Cow, Snake Slide, Racing Ducks and Carousel added to farm figures and fun, plus our new Crazy Golf as suggested by one of our Farm Friends on this website, you can have a wonderful time for just £5.99 in between your shopping expeditions. Come down any day between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and meet us there.

Also, a quick message for those of you wanting to buy Annual Passes, please do not forget to bring your photos with you to the farm when you come in to apply! This will save you time and trouble.

By the way, the photos show our crazy golf course and the construction site in our Country Fayre too, plus the Farm Train and Milking Cow, now in Lakeside.  And if you are coming to the Farm, do not worry there is still a train and milking cow here too!

Visit Our Brand New Truck Trouble Show and see what is going on for the rest of the year.

001.JPG006-3.JPG011.JPG008-2.JPGWe are putting together a collection of images of the farm over the past 12 years since Old Macdonald’s first opened here in Brentwood, and emailed all our farm friends to ask for any they have. We would ask anyone reading this website to either email us to oldmacdonalds@btconnect.com or post to the farm at Old Macdonald’s Farm, Weald Road, Brentwood, Essex, CM14 5AY. Any you have will be appreciated, and any posted will be returned to you. Please let us know the month and year you took them for our collage.

We had no sooner sent out the email when Farm Friend Francine sent us these and they are so good we had to share them with you all! Thanks Francine, and these were from Halloween last year! Fantastic photos Francine, appreciated!
