For a bit of fun, and education too, Old Macdonald’s would like to feature appropriate poetry on our web pages. So here is a contribution from our pigs, who have actually pinched it from Benjamin Burt in 1933 but in fact it might be older!
Still, it is just for fun and hope you enjoy it.
One evening in October, when I was far from sober
To keep my feet from wandering I tried
My poor legs went all a flutter so I lay down in the gutter
And a pig came up and lay down by my side.
We sang “never mind the weather, just so long as we’re together”
Till a lady passing by was hear to say…..
“You can tell a man who boozes by the company he chooses”
Then the pig got up and slowly walked away!!!!!!
