Love is always in the air at Old Macdonald’s Farm and we hear the patter of tiny feet, hooves, paws and trotters right through the year. The latest arrivals are our quartet of Kune Kune Piglets (pronounced Cooney Cooney) who can be found with their proud Mum in our special piggery.
They are all eating well, like pigs in fact, and you can make their day complete by using the special pig feeder at the side to drive our mini tractor down to tip food into their ever open mouths. Mum is a gentle giant, and her little piglets love the attention our visitors give.
Kune Kune pigs are natives of New Zealand and were nearly extinct as recently as 1970, but with careful breeding programmes such as ours here at Old Macdonald’s Farm they are now safe and secure, but please do not mention the Rugby World Cup to them as they are sensitive!
We also have kittens, newly born, baby bunny rabbits, and goat kids. Each week you can see the new arrivals list on the notice board, put there for your information.
